Looking for something different to do with your dog? Dances with Dogs combines training, music and plenty of fun into a sport you can enjoy with your dog.
Dog and handler work as a team to perform a routine set to music. There are two styles: Freestyle, which can include tricks such as spins, weaving and backing up, and Heelwork to Music, where much of the routine is performed with the dog working close to the handler.
You don’t have to have competitive ambitions to enjoy it. Learning the different moves gives your dog valuable mental stimulation and turns training into quality time together. As you learn to read each other’s movements and cues, it can also build communication, confidence and that all-important bond.
From Chihuahuas to Great Danes, dogs of all shapes and sizes can join in, with moves and routines adapted to suit each dog’s individual abilities. Whether your dog loves showing off or simply enjoys learning something new, Dances with Dogs is a fun way to train, play and spend quality time together.
